Darrold Persson is a trial attorney who was with the Matonich and Persson Law Firm of Hibbing and Minneapolis for over 40 years. He is now "Of Counsel" to the Trenti Law Firm, in addition to having a solo practice at Persson Law, LLC. A native "Iron Ranger" he returned home after obtaining his law degree and over the years has handled or tried hundreds of personal injury cases including car accidents, premises liability, products liability, defamation and professional malpractice obtaining verdicts and settlements, many of which exceeded one million dollars. He is proud to say that he has never represented an insurance company and has always represented the "little guy". He is a compassionate advocate with a straight forward, personable approach that yields a comfort level for his clients.
Darrold was a Civil Trial Specialist certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy for almost 30 years and a perennial selection to both "Super Lawyers" and "Best Lawyers of America" in the field of plaintiff's personal injury. In 2016, 2018 and 2021 he was selected by Best Lawyers of America as "Lawyer of the Year" in Plaintiff's Personal Injury cases for Northern Minnesota. Also, he was honored by Best Lawyers of America as one of only two attorneys in Minnesota to be selected as the 2021 “Lawyer of the Year” in Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation for the Midwest States, encompassing the six state area of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. He has for over 40 years had an AV Preeminent rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Minnesota Bar Association and former member of the Minnesota and American Association for Justice. He previously served by appointment by the Minnesota Supreme Court to the No-Fault Insurance Standing Committee and as Chairperson of the 20th District Ethics Committee. In 2009 he was awarded the "Presidents Award of Excellence" by the Minnesota Bar Association for Pro Bono work done on behalf of several victims of the I-35 bridge disaster.
